Filters

In Community Weaver a filter chooses which members, service ads (offers or requests) or exchanges are shown to you. Filters are used for lists of members, offers, requests, exchanges, and timebankers' talents. Coordinators will also see filters for lists of pages, news, events, alerts, broadcast mails, etc.

Default Filters

The results of the filter are based upon the default criteria. Long list of results will be shown in several pages.

Whenever a member clicks on any of the following links:

  • "Members" -- Default criteria: all enabled accounts that are members
  • "Offers" -- Default criteria: all offers that are not expired, any category, from enabled member accounts
  • "Requests" -- Default criteria: all requests that are not expired, any category, from enabled member accounts
  • "My requests" -- Default criteria: all my offers that are not expired, any category
  • "My offers" -- Default criteria: all my requests that are not expired, any category
  • "My exchanges" -- Default criteria: all my recorded exchanges
  • "View all service ads" -- Default criteria: all offers & requests that are not expired, any category, from enabled member accounts
  • "View all offers" -- Default criteria: all offers that are not expired, any category, from enabled member accounts
  • "View all requests" -- Default criteria: all requests that are not expired, any category, from enabled member accounts
  • "All Timebankers' Talents listings" -- Default criteria: all enabled members Timebankers' Talents, any category

The list that you are shown is the result of a filter setting. In each of these cases the list is created based upon a different, pre-configured, default filter. The filters available for each list depend upon the content of the list.

Choosing filter criteria

After you see the list, you can open the list of filters and change the filter criteria. Choosing different criteria will show you a different list. Click on the "Filters" button to toggle1 the list of filters on or off. You can then choose other criteria to alter the results of the filter. Choosing a criteria will immediately cause that filter so implement it on the list shown.

Choosing an additional filter criteria will narrow the default list according to that criteria. For example, after clicking on "Offers" you can also filter for a certain neighborhood which will then only show you the offers from members living in that neighborhood. You can add additional filter criteria, and each additional filter criteria will further narrow the results shown to you.

In each filter is is only possible to choose one criteria.

There is also a filter search field where you can enter any character to further narrow the filter results. After you enter the charachters, use "enter" to activate the filter.

Coordinators using filters

Coordinators can see and use all filters that are available for a list, members can only see and use some of the filters for each list. Coordinators can also select results of filtered lists to initiate further actions.

1Coordinators do not have the toggle on or off for the list of filters. When a coordinator clicks on the "Filters' icon they see a list of filters that they can choose to hide or make visible (click on that filter).

  • Click on "Show all" to show the full list of filters and make them available for use.
  • Click on individual filters to show that specific filters and make it available for use.

or if the filters are shown
